DJ Auckland
Need a DJ in Auckland who turns up on time, reads the room, keeps the floor moving and takes requests? Kiwi DJs has been playing Auckland events since 2004, and it is where our largest team of DJs is based, led by founder Paul Marr.
We cover corporate functions, Christmas parties, product launches, birthdays, 21sts, private parties, school balls and boat parties across the whole region. Getting married? Weddings have their own dedicated team and page at Wedding DJ Auckland.
Build a Spotify playlist and send it through, so your DJ has the list before you even arrive. No time to make playlists? No worries. Our friendly DJs take requests on the fly.
A city we know venue by venue
Auckland events range from a function room at Hotel Britomart to a marquee at Settlers Country Manor, a reception at Mantells Mt Eden or a charter boat on the Waitemata. Each needs different gear, different load in planning and a different read on the crowd. We have played rooms across the city for twenty years, including corporate events inside the Auckland Art Gallery, and that venue knowledge is built into every quote.
Corporate DJ Auckland
Auckland is where we do most of our corporate work: end of year functions, awards nights, product launches and conference dinners, including events for some of New Zealand’s largest companies. We work to your run sheet, keep the music at conversation level while people eat and lift it when the formalities finish.
Party DJ Auckland
Birthdays, 21sts, 40ths, 50ths, engagement parties and everything between, at home, in a hall or in a hired venue. Our DJs bring the sound and lighting, play your Spotify playlist if you have one and take requests all night, because a good party DJ plays the crowd in front of them rather than a fixed set.

What affects DJ cost in Auckland
Every quote is a firm figure for your date and venue. These are the things that move it most.
A CBD venue with lifts, loading docks and time limits takes longer to bump in than a suburban hall with parking at the door, and setup time is part of the price.
A 400 guest corporate room needs more sound and lighting than a 60 guest birthday. We size the gear to the room, not the other way around.
A four hour party costs less than an all day function with background music, speeches and dancing. The quote reflects the real hours, including setup.
Waiheke, Matakana and boat charters carry ferry, travel or marina logistics that a central booking does not. Priced in up front, never added later.

The home team
Auckland is home base, with more Kiwi DJs here than anywhere else, including Paul Marr, Karn Hall, VYXN, Julia Ford and Grant Marshall. Busy Saturdays do not stretch us thin.
Playing this city since 2004, from the Auckland Art Gallery to Aotea Centre school balls and backyard 21sts in between.
Booked by some of the country’s largest companies for functions, launches and Christmas parties, with the reviews to show for it.
Friendly DJs who take requests on the fly. Send a Spotify playlist ahead of time or hand the night over, both work.
Sound and lighting sized to the room, wireless microphones for speeches, and setups that work on boats, in marquees and in galleries.
Kiwi DJs holds more than 700 reviews across its platforms, including 227 on our Auckland Google profile alone. They are all real.
“Paul and the team at Kiwi DJs were great to deal with. Very professional and personable. The night itself went smoothly and the guests had an awesome time on the dance floor thanks to Paul spinning all our fave tunes. He was happy to accommodate any requests and went above and beyond on the night to make sure our friends heard their faves. Highly recommend.”Shardae Nagel, Google Review, Auckland

DJ hire Auckland FAQs
How much does DJ hire cost in Auckland?
It depends on the hours, the venue and the gear the room needs. A four hour birthday in a suburban hall sits at a different price to an all day corporate function in a CBD hotel with speeches and a 400 guest dancefloor. Send your date and venue through the quote form and you get a firm figure, not a range. Our DJ hire Auckland prices page explains what moves the number.
Do you DJ corporate events and Christmas parties?
Yes, corporate work is the biggest part of our Auckland calendar, from November Christmas functions through to launches and awards nights year round. We work to your run sheet and supply wireless microphones for speeches as standard. See corporate DJ hire for details.
Can you DJ on a boat?
Yes. Boat parties on the Waitemata are a regular booking, including charters on Ocean Eagle and Oceania Harmony. Marine setups need compact gear and careful power planning, which we handle with the charter company. See party boat DJ Auckland.
Do you cover the North Shore, Waiheke and Matakana?
Yes, the whole region. The North Shore, Waiheke Island and Matakana each have their own local page, and travel is included in your quote so there are no surprises.
Can we choose the music?
Yes. Build a Spotify playlist and send it through, so your DJ has the list before you even arrive. Do not play lists are honoured no matter who asks on the night, and requests are always welcome.
Do you DJ weddings in Auckland?
Yes, weddings have their own dedicated team and their own page, covering ceremony sound, reception music and MC support. See Wedding DJ Auckland.
