Hiring a DJ for the first time?
It’s totally normal to have a few questions. Below are some of the most common ones we get from our clients — hopefully you’ll find the answers you’re looking for. If not, feel free to reach out, we’re always happy to help.



Do I need to make a Spotify playlist?
Nope, completely optional! You can leave the music to the professionals — we read the crowd, take requests, and keep the dance floor pumping.

How many songs should I add if I do make a Spotify playlist?
As many as you like! If your list gets a bit long, don’t worry — we’ll make sure the best ones get played.

How long does setup take?
It usually takes around 30 minutes, but we like to allow an hour so there’s no rush and we can do a proper sound check.

What if we want you to play longer on the night?
No problem — we can keep the music going after midnight for $100+GST per hour. (past midnight is$200+GST per hour)

How long do you normally play for?
Our standard packages run from 8pm to midnight (or 7pm to 11pm) and that includes setup. Extra hours before or after are $100+GST per hour, or $150+GST per hour after midnight.

Can you set up the sound and lighting earlier in the day?
Absolutely. Early setup is $100+GST (plus travel depending on location). Some venues and clients prefer this option.

Can we plug our phone or a laptop into your system to play music from?
Yes, just let us know beforehand.

Can we bring our own music for the DJ to play?
Sure thing! You’re welcome to bring USB stick with MP3 files or play via a device like phone or laptop but most of the time we have all the music under the sun.

The venue has its own sound system — can you plug into it?
Usually yes, but we’ll need to chat with the venue first to check their setup and connections.

What are Martin Mania Lights?
They’re one of our popular special effects lighting options — we have a range to suit different vibes including our new spinning heads

How much is the deposit to confirm a booking?
Deposits range from $180 to $500 depending on your package. Please note all deposits are non-refundable.

When do I need to pay the balance?
You can pay the balance anytime before your event.

What happens if I cancel?
Just let us know as soon as possible. Please note all deposits are non-refundable.

What if the equipment gets damaged?
Any damage caused by guests will be charged to the booking contact person.

Can we meet our DJ before the event?
If you book our Platinum Package, a free music consultation is included. If you’d like to meet your DJ outside of that, it’s $100+GST. or we can face time or call over phone for free.
